THE INSID lizsyner
Dr. Dwight McEntire came to the col
lege in 1996 after retiring as a partner
with Deloitte and Touche, a CPA and
tax consulting firm. Me holds a B.B.A.
degree with an emphasis in manage
ment and accounting from the Univer
sity of Michigan. While working full
time, he earned his Juris Doctorate de
gree with an emphasis in business law
from the University of Toledo. He
served thirty-one years in the United
States Air Force and Air national Guard
and is a commercial pilot with instru
ment rating.
Dr. McEntire married his wife
Rheajean in 1967. They have three
daughters and three grandchildren.
Rheajean was primarily a homemaker
who took care of the children while he
traveled about two to three months a
year for his company and the Air Guard.
In 1997, the family began to notice
changes in Mrs. McEntire's ability to
perform simple tasks. In 1998, she was
diagnosed with Pick's disease, a pro
gressively degenerative neurological
disease similar to Alzheimer's. There
is no known prevention or cure. Me
visits his wife daily at Marriott Stratford
Court in Palm Harbor while continuing
to chair the department of business and
coach the men's golf team.
For Strategy and Policy, the
class was divided into groups
and given a shoe company to
operate. Each week repre
sented a year’s worth of deci
sions that an actual business
would have to make. Zach
Barlowe, Joel Bacchus, Bobie
Jo Gelsthorpe, Christoph von
dem Bussche, and Jennice
Eckert named their company
Frielander to give it a German
touch.
Sharon Hurst is doing a timed challenging. The business fac
