aking over the position of varsity
T volleyball coach was an
experience for Mr. Dale Kinney. Being
involved with the program for three
years and his views of psychology
helped him in coaching the girls.
Senior leadership is a major factor
on any team. The leadership shown by
seniors Shelly Morey, Colleen Daly,
and Katie Olson, was an asset to the
other teammates.
Communication on the court was a
major factor used by the girls. “There
are no superstars. Nine people were
shuffled in and out. It took all of them
to work together and communicate on
the court,” said Mr. Kinney. The team
ended its season with a record of 2-11.
The freshman girls’ volleyball team
ended its season with an overall record
of 6-4 and a 5-3 conference record.
“This is the most skilled volleyball
group I’ve had, they are outstanding in
both talent and personality,” said coach
Ms. Ann Fulkerson. Working together
was one of the things that helped the
team to be a success.
C oncentration, on pre-game warm-ups is a key ingredient for
the varsity on the court. Juniors Julie Peterson, Pam Bauer,
senior Katie Olson, and junior Gayle Gustas work together before
the game.
