4.6 Tensile Property
The purpose of tensile test is to investigate the behaviours of specimens on
tensile properties, particularly the tensile strength and tensile modulus. This section
discusses on the effects of the stacking sequence of E-glass/basalt, E-glass/jute and E-
glass/flax on tension loading resistance. In addition, the effects of hybridisation on the
combination of E-glass with basalt, jute or flax fibres were compared to the results
from pure composites of E-glass, basalt, jute and flax. Table 4.3 shows the tensile
properties of the specimens, which consist of six hybrids and four pure composites.
Samples no. 1 to 6 represent the hybrid composites while no. 7 to 10 represent the pure
laminates.
