Now the Classy Bag Affair is a little more work but oh so much more fun for the ladies.
Dorothy Hendricks, ESA from El Cajon, CA explained that they auction 40 purses with a value of
$50.00 or more. They hire an auctioneer and have a luncheon. Price range for the purses is $40.00
to $750.00! Members of the chapter supply the purses and contents. They offer a silent auction
for those who can’t afford a purse and throw in 4 nice items other than purses. Dorothy told me
they have done this for 14 years and the afternoon “is fun and fast”. Sounds like a blast!
This month, I ask you all to pray for Bella Bush of Wichita Kansas. Bella has been a St. Jude patient
since she was two due to brain cancer. Since 2013, she has had 3 different chemo regimens to
shrink her tumor.
A little over 2 years ago, St. Jude started proton beam therapy at the hospital. For the past 7
weeks Bella has had 29 rounds of radiation. She is the youngest patient to not use sedation. At
first, the proton shrunk the tumor allot and then a little. By the end of March they will know the
results of the proton. So I ask you all to pray for this little girl who has fought so hard. The tumor
will never go away but prayerfully the proton will destroy the DNA of the tumor.
