Posting Exercise
Posting to schools is offered during the Annual Posting Exercise (APEX). There are two posting
exercises annually – OPEN and CLOSED. HR will disseminate the information on the two
posting exercises thorough e-mail.

Advertisements of vacancies in primary Under the closed posting exercise,
schools, secondary schools, JCs/Cls, HQ posting will be done centrally by MOE HR

Posting Requests outside APEX
Members are advised to participate in the APEX to apply for a posting to another school.
However, if a teacher need to request for a posting outside APEX due to unforeseen circum-
stances such as health issues or change in residential address, he/she may write to MOE HR
and the request will be considered on a case by case basis.

Participation in Outside Activities

Do I need to seek approval
if I am giving tuition

Do take note that with effect from 1 January 2021, officers are required to seek approval for
paid part-time lecturing or teaching (includes tuition). This includes if you serve as a tutor for
a self-help group.
Officers need to submit application at least one month before the start of the activity. If you
are attached to schools, please direct your application to the Principal.
