Unpaid Infant Care Leave
If your child (Singapore Citizen) is under the age of 2 years old, you are eligible for 6 working
days of Unpaid Infant Care Leave (UICL) per year provided under the Child Development
Co-Savings Act (CDCA). You also need to have at least 3 months of service at the time of leave.
The total number of days of leave is capped at 12 days per child. This leave is granted per
parent regardless of number of qualifying children (biological, adopted, step or foster child).
The last day on which an officer is eligible for the leave will be the last day of the same calendar
year (i.e. 31 Dec) where the child turns 2 years old. The UICL can be taken flexibly and in
half-days subject to approval by Principals/ Branch Heads.
MENAAMI
In addition to that, there is also an additional of 4 weeks of Unpaid ICL for officers to look after
a child (biological, adopted, step or foster child) who is a Singapore Citizen born on or after 1
Jul 2017. The additional 4 weeks of UICL should be taken in a continuous period (i.e. as a single
block with no working day break). Do discuss with your Principals/ Branch Heads if you intend
to utilise the UICL.
