               MICROSOFT MAKECODE FOR MICRO: BIT

MakeCode for micro: bit is an open source graphical programming environment
developed by Microsoft. It can be accessed from the micro:bit website at
https://makecode.microbit.org/. Figure 9 shows the Makecode Interface.

                   • Simulation Window
This window simulates the operating status of micro: bit. User can check how
the program looks like through this window during the process of programming.

                   • Function Area
This area has all the function blocks including input, output, loop, logic, etc.

                   • Programming Area
This area allows blocks to be dragged from “Function area”, stack them up and
                       build the program here.

               MICROCONTROLLER MICRO: BIT

The microcontroller micro: bit has a 5x5 LED matrix that supports light detection, 2
programmable buttons, motion detector, Compass and Bluetooth® Smart module.
More modules such as a servo motor, RGB LED lights can be attached through 5 I/O
rings or 20 edge connectors. The micro: bit can be used to programme a robot, electric
instrument or even a home automation system. Figure 10 shows the anatomy of the
               micro: bit microcontroller.
