                                                        Abstract

This study investigates the perception of students using Google Classroom based on
their experience. The quantitative study design method is carried out. Eighty one pre-
service teachers in Institute of Teacher Education Batu Lintang Campus (ITE BL), who
have actively integrated Google Classroom in their online classes during the COVID
19 pandemic, became the participants. Findings showed that students’ experience
using Google Classroom was strongly influenced by lecturers’ contribution (M=4.46,
SD = 0.54) and ease of access to Google Classroom (M = 4.40, SD = 0.53). The result
also found that students’ satisfaction towards Google Classroom was satisfactory
(M=4.46, SD=0.65). In general, students were satisfied with the features and functions
provided in the Google Classroom as a tool for learning compared to other digital tools.

               INTRODUCTION

The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted the livelihood of every Malaysian. School
closures since mid-March have suspended formal classroom learning for around 4.9
million students in pre-, primary and secondary schools nationwide. On 15 April, during
the Movement Control Order (MCO) Education Minister Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin
mentioned that teaching and learning were disrupted. Learning activities have taken
place as usual and teachers were advised to find the best alternative ways to deliver
lessons. With physical distancing requirements, teachers and lecturers have generally
been shifting their teaching activities from traditional classroom meetings to distance
learning either online or offline, utilizing electronic learning equipment. E-Learning
which includes other online systems that enable information gathering, management,
access and communication in various forms (Salwana Hassan, 2002) should be used
               to solve online learning.
Educational institutions across the nation have taken great measures to ensure
that their students can continue learning through digital mediums and tools. This
includes Teacher Education Institute (IPG) in Malaysia that has used Google
Classroom to conduct online classes. In Teacher Education Institute, classes
continued although MCO was enforced as of 18 March 2020. In order to overcome
