                                         Clinical features


                                        Fractures of the pelvis
                                        These may be isolated lesions due to a localized blow or may be displace-
                                        ments of part of the pelvic ring due to compression injuries. Lateral com-
                                        pression usually results in fractures through both pubic rami on each side,
                                        or both rami on one side with dislocation at the symphysis; anteroposterior
