12-11-1 A/C system: Removal procedure
[Removal procedure]
Since A/C compressor is driven by electrical motor which uses DC 330V, special attention is required to handle it.

Make sure to remove the service plug when make service on the parts using high voltage.

12-11-2 A/C system: A/C refrigerant and lubricant
[1] A/C refrigerant
HFC134a is used as same as petrol powered “i”.
[2] Oil
Due to the adoption of the electrical motor driven compressor, following oil which has high
insulation performance are specified.

Oil (POE) :MA68EV [Special oil for i-MiEV supplied by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries]
Minimum Supply unit : 100ml Canned for service use

[Note]
PAG (Polyalkylene Glycol) is used for Petrol powered ‘i”
POE (Polyol Esters) is used for i-MiEV
[Caution points on handling the POE oil]
-Expiration date-
Since the POE oil has a potential of deterioration by moisture absorption (hydrolytic cleavage),
expiration date for use is specified as follows.
Expiration date for use : 5 years (with unopened condition)

[Note:]Storage of oil is not allowed once the can is opened.

- Charging -
It is strictly prohibited to mix up of PAG to POE, exclusive Charger and charging hose is required for i-MiEV.
