discussions on Energy & Production. Deviations in SEC shall be discussed in daily meetings
and logical reasoning should be done.

                11. There is a need of monitoring the energy consumption throughout the year more closely
so that the energy consumption can be matched with the production process and
reduction of wastage of energy can be done during this time.

The simple principle of Energy Conservation is

                   “MEASURE >> ANALYZE >> CONTROL >> SAVE >> SUSTAIN”

Hence a Good Monitoring system will help in each of above stage and will give the
management a clear way for achieving the energy conservation.

                   1. Periodic Energy Audits and consultation is very much necessary for implementing the
projects or developing the energy conservation mechanism as like TPM.
                   2. This will be the streamlined approach towards Energy Conservation Standard ISO 50001.

5.1 Major Energy Saving Opportunities in Electrical Section

                   a) Our Study/Energy Audit is thus directed towards finding out the gaps in the operating
systems especially fixed costs energy centres i.e. Chillers, Cooling Towers, Illuminations,
                       Raw Water Pumping.

Energy Saving Opportunities are divided into two segments for all utilities/equipment.

                  I. Reduction in Specific Energy Consumption close to the design.
II. Reduction in wastage of energy through losses from insulation, in-effective practices,
                       design issues etc.
We have analyzed the data and further report is directed towards finding the reasons
for energy deviations and action plan thereafter.

                   b) Average load on Transformer-1 is measured as 470 KW with a comparatively low power
factor of 0.83 and that of Transformer-2 is 298 KW with PF 0.82.
                   c) Lower Power Factor results into higher demand and also system losses.
                   d) As per measurements, it is recommended to install automatic power factor control
panel of capacity 400 KVAR (at 440 V) for Transformer-1 & APFC panel of capacity 300
KVAR (At 440 Volts) for transformer-2. Since the system voltage is low, required capacity
is slightly increased. This is necessary from DEWA regulations as well. Average

investment for the panels will be 65000 AED.
                   e) The loads especially chillers, boiler operate on very low power factor at no or partial
                       load.
