Remembrance Day

This year at JPGS we were very
        fortunate to have our Grammar
School pupils at school and visi-
tors were able to attend our spe-
cial assembly. This allowed us to
        commemorate the occasion with
        respect to remember those fallen
heroes who fought hard to help
shape the future. It was a morning
where we all came to-gether as a
        school and community.

        Our Remembrance Day Assembly
took place in the Sports Hall and a
link was also shared with the Prep
School pupils and families to join
        from home.

This occasion means a lot to our
school and community and there- All monies raised from the pur-
fore we had many items from vari- chase of a poppy were then sent to
ous voices. We had many speeches the British Legion Charity.
from staff and pupils and a very
special guest – Lt. Col. John Rus- Mr Yassar Hussain
sell from the British Army who Year 4 Teacher
was able to share his thoughts and Lower Key Stage 2 Coordinator
        experiences.

        Poppies were decorated by our
        wonderful pupils and displayed
        around our school. Furthermore,
within our PSHE lessons our pu-
        pils learned the signifi-cance of
Remembrance Day and why it is
an occasion to reflect and wear the
        poppies with pride.
