6.3.1 Digital Electronic Dosimeter
Modern pocket dosimeter is the digital electronic pocket
dosimeter. Many electronic pocket dosimeter available
on shelf to measure dose and dose rate of γ, β and
also neutron.This dosimeter using small Geiger-Müller
detector assemble inside the casing. The detector is
electronically connected to the counter and processor
also to the readout display. The signal of the radia-
tion detector is collected until reached the predeter-
mined exposure, the collected charge is discharge to
trigger an electronic counter and the readout display
will show the accumulated exposure and dose rate in
digital form. This process is repeated according to the
preset timer.
