   MAIN CONTRACTOR

     Explaination

➢The individual selected directly by the Employer to execute the main component of the
Project and to have overall control and management of the Project Site is referred to as the
Main Contractor. The contractor might be the main contractor or not.

     Role

➢ The main contractor is in charge of locating and hiring qualified subcontractors and employees

to execute the project. Equipment, supplies, and other services necessary for the project's smooth
flow must be managed by the main contractor with the help of subcontractors. Submit invoices in
accordance with the provisions of the contract agreement.

      Responsibilities
➢ A general contractor, also known as a main contractor or prime contractor, is in charge of

overseeing a construction site on a daily basis, managing vendors and trades, and communicating
information to all parties involved during the duration of a construction project

     SUB-CONTRACTOR

      Explaination
➢A subcontractor (or sub-contractor) is a firm or individual that a general contractor, prime

contractor, or main contractor employs to execute a specific task as part of a larger project,
and who is often compensated for the services given. Subcontractors are hired to cut costs or
      to decrease project hazards.

      Role

➢In essence, a subcontractor will fulfil all or portion of the contractor's contract
responsibilities. They may be responsible for providing their own supplies and equipment for
the work they are contracted for, depending on the Subcontractor Agreement. Subcontractors

are the labourers, whereas contractors are the supervisors.

       Responsibilities

➢ Have a safe site, plant, structures and ways of working.
➢ Make sure plant, structures and substances are used, handled and stored safely.
➢ Provide facilities for the welfare of workers, such as running water and toilets.
