8000.01- Executive Director Job Description
DAILY:
Administration – Purpose is to keep an eye on the daily flow of the practice, keep a thumb on the
atmosphere of the team, and assure the team members are in correct positions focused on productive
tasks for the benefit of the entire organization. It also insures the ED is up-do-date on the daily “pulse” of
the practice:
o The executive director needs to enter the building from the front door. Walks “the floor” twice
daily visiting with all areas of the hospital briefly and addressing any problems or concerns.
Offer encouragement on those things seen as being done well or above expectations. Spend at
least 3 hours a week on the floor as an ED, not scheduled as part of the technical positions.
o ED works at least one evening shift/week until 8 PM and at least one Saturday or Sunday per
month.
o Assures all staff are happy and competent.
o Assures the hospital is fully staffed and properly scheduled to comfortably serve all patients and
clients beyond expectations regardless of what surprises may happen.
o All phone messages to ED should be returned before leaving each daily shift
Supervision of Executives (Dir of Admin, MS, and Pub Contact/Marketing) – Purpose is assure all
executives are handling their responsibilities and following proper procedures without needing assistance
for basic duties:
o Executives are up-to-date on daily duties, keeps an orderly neat work space and maintains focus
on result statements and production of the hospital.
WEEKLY:
Executives Supervision:
o Assures D of Admin and D of Med Service’s work schedule is updated in AVImark at least one
week in advance.
o Assures all execs are following procedures.
o Conducts appropriate Employee Development Meetings for all executives per procedure.
o Assures all Employee Developments meetings are properly scheduled and held throughout the
hospital
Human Resources (Hiring, Evaluations, Staff Hours Budget):
Reviews and approves staff evaluations at least 2 days prior to scheduled.
Assures all staff evaluations for next month are scheduled in AVImark under Dir of Admin by the

28 of this month.
All pay raises and evaluations are submitted by ED to the owner at least 7 days prior to the
evaluation.
