Stingers
The jellyfishes’ stingers are known as nematocysts. Inside each of
these capsule-like ‘stinging cells’ (A) are toxins and a long, coiled
harpoon (B).When the jellies’ long tentacles touch passing prey, the
harpoon strikes out, injecting prey with poison.
