CUCKOO 165
Legs & Feet
Cuckoos legs are short but
strong.Their feet have a
zygodactyl layout,with two of
their toes pointing forwards
and two pointing backwards.
This is common for most
perching birds, particularly
those that spend their time
climbing tree trunks or
clambering through foliage such
as woodpeckers or parrots.
Such a design means that they
walk with a hopping gait.
