                 As with the past perfect, the verb does not agree with its sub-
                 j ject in transitive uses:
                   usne nāshtā khāyā hA
                   he/she has eaten breakfast
                 Past Continuous
                 The first two parts are the same as in the present continuous.
                 A third part is added which is the past tense of hōnā, ie thā,
                 thī, the:
                   vō uTh rahā thā      vō uTh rahī thī
                   he was getting up    she was getting up

                 Future
             Verbs
                 The future tense consists of three parts:
                   verb stem +  suffix -ū, -e, e or -ō +  -gā, -ge, -gī
                 The second part agrees with the subject in number and per-
                 son.
                 The third part agrees with the subject in gender and number:
                   (uThnā to get up)
