Smooth over the inner surface of the dish one last
time to make sure it’s finished o neatly at the depth you
require.
Turn the board and mould over and lay it on the work
surface.

Firm the clay up with a hairdryer until you’re sure the
shape will hold when turned out of the mould.
Carefully lift the mould o the dish.
22 Now you can see why I recommend you add a sheet of
foam to the surface of the mould because you can clearly
see that a thin layer of the boards’ paper covering has
stuck to the surface of the clay. This isn’t a problem in
itself because it will burn away in firing, but it does spoil
the surface of the mould if not careful.

Pack the interior of the dish with soft plastic or
something similar, to support the shape when it’s
turned out of the mould.
Lay a board over the surface.
Roll a long, even coil of clay approximately 1.5cm thick
to form the foot of the dish.
Lay the coil on the underside of the dish in the required
position and overlap the ends. .
