The immediate future can also be translated by ir + infinitive:r
                 vamos comprar uma garrafa de vinho tinto
                 vamoosh komprar ooma garrafa di veen-yoo teentoo
                 we’re going to buy a bottle of red wine
                 irei buscá-lo
                 iray booshkaloo
                 I’ll fetch him, I’ll go and fetch him
               In Portuguese, as in English, the future can sometimes  be    HOW THE LANGUAGE WORKS
               expressed by the present tense:
                 o seu avião parte à uma
                 oo say-oo av-yowng parta ooma
                 your plane takes off at one o’clock
               However, Portuguese often uses the present tense where the
               future would be used in English:
                 dou-lhe oitocentos escudos
                 dohl-yi oh-itosayntooz shkoodoosh
                 I’ll give you eight hundred escudos         N
               The following verbs are irregular in the future tense:

                 far-ei   [faray]  I will do
                 far-ás   [farash]  you will do (sing, fam)
                 far-á    [fara]   he will do, she will do, it will do,
                                     you will do (sing, pol)
                 far-emos  [faraymoosh] we will do
                 far-ão   [farowng]  they will do, you will do (pl)
