Tall, fair-skinned, chestnut-locked, and
banana-nosed, Alden is the only Moses
Brownie descended directly from the May
flower—wooden stemmed and with water on
the brain! In fact, he even displayed his
heritage this year by walking around with a
wooden crutch. His excuse was a bum knee;
but we all knew well his aims when he
dashed out to his red-hot Corvair at 2:45.
Aldy is not a bad student, either; witness
his terrific point scoring in the Babe's math
section and his fruity comments in Mr. Nutt's
"English.'' Alden never talks much about his
trip to Europe or his favorite teacher, Louis
Davis; he is afraid that his sense of humor
will run away with him. But Alden is proud
est of his skill at contest winning on radio
pro. He has won $15.04, a transistor, an
LP, a "45,” and 26 grease jobs! How were
they. Bud?
"Nice!”

John is a boy who has left his mock on
the school. His busting remarks made his
classmates titter. His greatest achievement is
his complete revamp of the Quaker. The
publication, once an unexciting handful of
news, has become an anxiously awaited
bundle of history. Although he fools few of
his beloved teachers, his burning desire to
succeed leaves behind a trail of smoke in the
eyes of his followers. And who could forget
"D-Day” when the crab-apple-quick-trots
descended upon the school? John s rallying
call was "Onward to Apple Tree Lane,
where cans of antidote waited patiently,
John has been high all year, in fact, since
he received his A” rating at Boola-Boola. It
has been noted, too, that John has been
working conscientiously as a tutor at Doyle
St School to find a date that meets his re
quirements. We're sure he will; all he wants
is peace and quiet.
