Jim, Moses Brown’s attempt to roll John
Barrymore, John the Baptist, and Johnny
Carson into one bundle of nerve, has made
the school quake on many an "unFriendly”
occasion. After pounding and thumping his
way through "The Congo” in the Declama
tion Contest, he threw himself into the ill,
but legitimate, school theater group and
ironically hammed up meaty "father” roles
for three years in succession. The "bull” man
lives and loves by restraint, be it in the
realm of conservative excursions into English
poetry and prose or in meretricious chapel
talks. Who can ever forget his and Rex’s
stimulating interpretation of Our To-wn? It
cannot be said that Jim is a slouch on the
athletic field, either—mainly because he is
never seen there! His bass voice has allured
many a maiden into revealing her secrets
(especially librarians) and has made many a
shallow statement seem shamefully profound
(ask Mr. Herman!). A purist at heart, Jim
will long be remembered as a leader of
Moses Brown’s "dirty old men.”

Dennis Burgess is something of a mystery
to his corridor mates. Denzo is usually alone
when he arises at the hideously early hour
of 7:45. This punctuality is matched only by
his ability to get to his classes on time. Al
though Dennis is not exactly a scholastic
whiz, he does get an "A” from the Babe.
Of course, he only gets it for the cleanliness
of his room, but an "A” is an "A.” In all
fairness it should be noted that Dennis is one
of the few boarders who gets on the honor
roll. This achievement is made possible, at
least in part, by his true devotion to track, or
rather Spanish. Although Den doesn’t incite
any waterfights or revolts, he joins them,
and is as revolting as the next fellow. But
most of all, Dennis is the nicest guy in the
boarding department.
