Laurent-Perrier Champagne
Arnaud Longuent, Switzerland’s General Director
The year 1812 saw the Russian military cam-
paign and the Napoleon’s defeat at Berezina.
1812 also witnessed the Americans’ push into
Canada and the Battle of Queenston Heights.
History always seems to be about the exploits
of war, its defeats and victories. 1812 was
actually a glorious year ! Why ? Because it
marked the birth of the champagne house
Laurent-Perrier. Today this venerable insti-
tution can boast of ‘two centuries of elegant
living’ and it has chosen the young Arnaud
Longuent to head up its Swiss business.
Laurent-Perrier is notable for the excellence of
its champagnes and their reputation. From a
wider perspective, the spirit of innovation
together with a heartfelt respect for tradition
has transported this aristocratic brand to the
top. We can thank one man, Bernard de
Nonancourt, for this. Inspired by passion, he
poured his creative energy into this age-old
champagne house and it has him to thank for
the rediscovery of the Laurent-Perrier style:
fresh, delicate, elegant. Today this fine cham-
pagne is exported to 147 countries and served
at all the best tables.
Arnaud Longuent arrived at Laurent-Perrier
in 2004 as Director of Regional Exports and has
been the driving force behind the recent expan-
sion. After a career that began with academic
study and wide-ranging professional expe-
rience, he takes charge of one of the most
important subsidiaries. In conjunction with
his responsibility for Switzerland, he also runs
the Austrian and Russian markets.
