IC Workshop Coordinator
Robin Bussey, South Carolina

Why did you join ESA? What is your inspiration, your passion? Why do you serve on
the General or Executive Boards on the State, Multi-State or IC level? I am sure that
you, as well as I, have been asked some of these questions in the past. What would
be your answer? Is it because you care what happens to children with cancer? Would it be that you like
to give back or pay it forward? It might have been that you wanted to meet and form long lasting
friendships. Whatever the reason, we did join and we are making a difference in someone’s life every
day.
I was so elated in St. Louis at our 70 Annual IC Convention when I was elected your 2017-2018 Workshop
th
Coordinator as I love to be of service to others in our organization that has helped mold me into the
person I am today. I am excited about this new adventure and look forward to bringing you some great
workshops in Phoenix, AZ in 2018.
That is where you come in-I want your ideas about what you would like to see in interesting, fun and
inspiring workshops this year. President Sandy and I have already been throwing around some ideas, but
we would like input from you!! Please do not hesitate to e-mail me with your ideas of what sort of
workshops you like to see come next July. My e-mail is rfbussey@yahoo.com. Looking forward to hearing
from you.
IC Philanthropic Chair

What a wonderful IC Convention in St. Louis where we were asked to "Inspire" for
ESA in the coming year. As Philanthropic chairmen, let's Inspire each other by
sharing some great philanthropic projects in your state that are not always as
published as the wonderful things we do for our National Projects.
I'm looking for at least (8) volunteers to send me information about a great project in your state and local
chapters that will challenge us to try something new in our own states. We'd love to hear how you support
a wonderful organization in your area that might Inspire another state or chapter.
I will then submit your stories, and of course a photo or two, to be published one per each edition of the
IC News Bulletin. Don't you often wonder how we raised the money or worked the hours that are
celebrated in July each year? I know I do.
Here is your chance to celebrate something special by sharing it with all of us, Inspiring us to do even
more.
Ohio's Philanthropic Chair, Tammy Reynolds, has proposed a series of new projects that we can do
together at each of our state meetings and convention. This September we will support Pet Rescue and
make pull toys from old clothing along with donations for local centers. Everyone is excited that Tammy
is "thinking outside the box" and Inspiring us to try something new!
I look forward to hearing from you!
