penetrate into the tube producing two deep cuts (see next page for before and after assembly
drawings). The first groove is visible due to lifting of an outer edge on the surface of the tube
and is the main sealing function of the ring. The second groove (invisible) balances the forces
on the whole ring and prevents vibrations from reaching the first groove.
