The Final Quest
By Javier Nathaniel Tan
“Don’t worry. People know me as the Legendary One for a reason,” Arthur told his
companion, Ezio.
Arthur was fueled by passion and even arrogance to be the best adventurer in history. From
gold Egyptian amulets to old lost scepters, Arthur has ticked o virtually everything on the
list. The only piece missing that would seal his name in the history books was the Emperor’s
Chest. Resting atop the highest peak in the Arctic, nding this artifact involves rock
climbing in sub-zero temperatures. No one has dared to even attempt the perilous climb to
the top, except Arthur.
“Set camp down here and wait. I should be back before sunset,” Arthur instructed.
Snow fell like confetti from the cloud- lled azure sky and the sun shone its brilliant golden
light. In the distance, an ocean of sturdy evergreens could be seen clothed in snow. Aside
from the penetrating coldness, conditions were perfect for Arthur to ascend the steep
mountain face and make history.
“Are you absolutely sure you want to do this?” Ezio questioned Arthur, “No one in history
has attempted this because they know it’s a suicide mission.”
“How many times do I need to tell you? I have never failed before, and so I de nitely won’t
fail now,” Arthur con dently replied.
With his rock climbing equipment strapped onto him, Arthur strutted with full con dence
to the rock face. He took a deep breath in preparation, and started ascending. Step by step,
one obstacle at a time, he e ortlessly shu ed up the mountain and made steady progress.
Having scaled multiple cli faces and mountains in previous quests, it was a breeze for
Arthur.
