The voice got louder and her body began to move on its own. She walked and walked and
came to a halt in front of a wooden door, light seeping in through its holes as if it was
telling her to open it. Her hand reached out for the door handle. Creak…
A bright white flame reflected upon the girl’s eyes. It swirled and danced, radiating its
magnificence in the center of the dark room. “At last you are here, chosen one,” it said.
“Who are you?” Xalbadora questioned.
“I am the guardian of your spirit power.”
“Spirit power?” Xalbadora asked. “The rumoured most powerful magic in the universe?
Wasn’t this just a legend?”
“You must unleash me quickly and use me to save your kingdom.” The flame vanished.
“Wait! How do I unleash this power?” Xalbadora shouted hopelessly.
Suddenly, the sound of footsteps and mumbling was heard drawing near. Instinctively,
Xalbadora swiftly hid behind a cabinet. A man in black armor entered the room, “Lord
Credell, they’re here.”
A masked man emerged from the shadows. He chuckled, “Fools who don’t know their
limits.” “Bring them in.”
The men bowed and shortly after, a cage flew into the room. Xalbadora gasped. Her
friends were tied in vines and their mouths were sealed tight.
The masked man raised his wand, “Goodbye, fellow children.”
Xalbadora rushed to the front of the cage. “NOOOO!” she shouted. But it was too late.
The destructive bolt of magic had already struck her friends’ chest. In a flash of lightning,
their bodies faded into specks of dust. Tears unbearingly trickled down the miserable
girl’s cheeks and dropped onto the cold marble floor. Unable to do anything, she cowered
in distress at the loss of her friends.
