“I can’t believe nobody even tried. At least give me a challenge.”
Suddenly, he could hear a distant howl, and soon after felt a gust attack him. He turned
back to see a raging urry of white coming towards him. It was a snow squall. The wrathful
wind whipped through the previously elegant and sturdy evergreens, causing them to bend
and sway vigorously
under stress. Weathered rocks were breaking away, and icicles rained from above like a volley
of arrows.
Now balancing on a narrow ledge, Arthur could only depend on his safety ropes and hug
the mountain face as tightly as possible to dodge the debris. However, knowing that the
mountain face was deteriorating, he realized he had to act quickly. Just as he was looking up
to scope out where he would climb to next, a hefty mass of rocks knocked him. The
adventurer lost his footing and went galloping across the rocks as a result. Trying to arrest
the swing, Arthur twisted his body to act against the momentum, but to no avail. The next
thing he knew, he was splat against the mountain face, with blood streaming down his face
and a coppery taste in his mouth.
Hanging on a single thin rope, Arthur maneuvered his numbing and aching body onto an
icy ledge. The squall had stopped, but the cruel conditions still persevered. The freezing
cold temperatures started to get to him, but he thought it was just something more to brag
about in the end. Despite the minor concussion and injuries, Arthur skillfully and swiftly
shu ed up the icy face with determination.
After an arduous climb, there he was, at the summit.
A sigh of relief was followed by a hysterical smile. Arthur then scanned the area for the
Emperor’s Chest. And just as expected, there it was in all of its glory. Snow had
accumulated on it, yet the pure gold chest still gleamed with brilliance under the sunlight.
Arthur cleaned the snow o the chest, and his eyes immediately lit up just as a kid’s in a
candy store.
