                                                   day	timeframe,	we're	focused	more	on	the	nine	day	framework
                                                   or	the,	you	know,	everybody,	that's	the	long	term	is	if	they're
                                                   not	gonna	buy	afterwards.	It's	funny,	I	spoke	at	Dane	Kennedy's
                                                   super	conference	and	I	did,	I	looked	up	the	word	"gauntlet"
                                                   because	that	was	such	a	popular	word	that's	going	around,	you
                                                   know?	You	put	people	through	your	gauntlet	series	of
                                                   messages.	Well	I	looked	it	up	and	a	gauntlet	is	actually	a	term
                                                   for	a	military	punishment	where	a	man	is	forced	to	run	through
                                                   a	line	of	other	men	beating	him	with	a	stick.	That's	where	the
                                                   term	"Run	the	gauntlet"	comes	from	and	you	can	imagine	that
                                                   that's	how	people	feel	when	they	come	and	opt	in	on	an
                                                   internet	marketing	website.	That	they	go	through	these	nine
                                                   days	beating	them	over	a	stick,	you	know?	"Buy	now,	I	don't
                                                   know	how	long	I'm	gonna	keep	this	up.	This	is	gonna	come
                                                   down	at	any	time.	Okay	you're	gonna	get	50%	off	but	that's
                                                   going	away	tomorrow.	Okay	you've	twisted	my	arm,	I'll	throw
                                                   this	in	there"	and	then	we're	getting	towards	the	end	and
                                                   you're	going,	"Frankly,	Dean,	I'm	puzzled	that	you	haven't	taken
                                                   advantage	of	this	special	offer	now."


               Dean	Jackson:	        00:14:34	     Then	at	the	end	it's,	"Are	you	mad	at	me?"	You	know?	All	these
                                                   things	and	then	if	people	don't	buy,	then	we	put	them	in	the
                                                   bad	lead	category	and	we	just	send	them	affiliate	offers	so	that
                                                   they	can	go	off	and	then	someone	else	can	hammer	them	with
                                                   their	gauntlet	series	and	hopefully	they'll	buy	something	from
                                                   them.	That's	pretty	much	what's	happening	as	an	industry,	if	we
                                                   stereotype	it,	that	that's	exactly	what's	happening.	But	what	I'm
                                                   sharing	with	you	is	that	the	reality	is	very	different.	The	reality	is
                                                   that	people,	when	they're	opting	in	right	now,	there's	five	times
                                                   more	value	for	them	later.	If	we	were	right	now	taking	a...

               Dean	Jackson:	        00:15:18	     If	we're	in	Las	Vegas	and	we're	at	the	craps	table	and	we're
                                                   gonna	put	our	chips	on	one	of	these	boxes	right	now,	where	do
                                                   we	put	our	chips?	Put	them	on	later?	Yeah.	Now,	it's	kind	of	a
                                                   trick	question	because	the	real	answer	is	the	only	place	we	can
                                                   put	our	chips	today	is	on	the	15%	'cause	we're	not	gonna	know
                                                   for	90	days	what's	gonna	happen	with	the	people	there	and	I
                                                   wanna	make	sure	that	you	realize	that	when	I	say	that	the	value
                                                   in	the	long	term	is	five	times	more,	I'm	not	in	any	way	saying
                                                   that	I	wanna	sacrifice	the	short	term	to	get	the	long	term.	I'm
                                                   saying	I	want	all	the	short	term,	too.	I	want	all	of	that	but	I	also
                                                   want	all	of	the	long	term	and	I'm	saying	that	sometimes	the
                                                   approach	that	people	take	is	getting	the	short	term	but
                                                   alienating	or	turning	people	off	to	getting	the	relationship	for
                                                   the	long	term.
