                                                         Abstract

A successful digital conversion for classrooms, districts, and states is not determined by
the technology, but by how technology enables teaching and learning. The purpose of
this study was to examine the challenges faced by thirty (30) novice teachers in Ranau
and Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia; on how they integrate and use digital instructional
strategies to enhance and transform student learning, and align that use with learning
research. The researchers conducted focus group interview and surveyed novice
teachers' skills, use, and integrate with technology as well. There are few challenges that
hinder the teachers to ehncance teaching and learning such as infrastructures and
internet connection in schools. The researchers also identify few roles that technology
plays in enhancing teaching and learning, also discuss how these strategies benefit
               teachers and learners.

Keywords: ICT tools, technology integration, digital instructional strategies

               INTRODUCTION

Voogt (2019) discussed how novice teachers can be helped in improving the quality of
their thinking about the use of technology in their teaching. O'Halloran (2018) mentioned
that the use of interactive tools to teach basic mathematical skills. Teachers can learn
how to respond to student reasoning by using videos as a tool.It is being supported by
Huda (2018) who said that reflective teaching practice was considered to be the whole
initiative with both the curriculum and the preparation to research the teaching to be
carried out, which should be put into effect. It refers to the way in which teachers with
their professional personality have an essential part to do from the process of self-
assessment. Technology is basically a tool. It may be hardware (such as computer, digital
camera), software (such as Excel, discussion forum) or both. In the sense of education,
it refers primarily to the different resources and devices (software) provided on the
machine. Therefore, technology such as ICT (Information Technology and
