Abstract
A successful digital conversion for classrooms, districts, and states is not determined by
the technology, but by how technology enables teaching and learning. The purpose of
this study was to examine the challenges faced by thirty (30) novice teachers in Ranau
and Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia; on how they integrate and use digital instructional
strategies to enhance and transform student learning, and align that use with learning
research. The researchers conducted focus group interview and surveyed novice
teachers' skills, use, and integrate with technology as well. There are few challenges that
hinder the teachers to ehncance teaching and learning such as infrastructures and
internet connection in schools. The researchers also identify few roles that technology
plays in enhancing teaching and learning, also discuss how these strategies benefit
teachers and learners.
