Warm greetings! This is Dana Lai, you ca n just call me Dana
and I am currently taking my first ye ar in Mass
Communication studies at UCSI University. I would describe

the media as vibrant, up to date, and full of razzmatazz. It
ties communities and stories together, uniting the divi ded
and supporting the crippled. But the media is just media
without the power of the people, the stories and most
importantly the voices. Hence, my desire to pursue a career
in this industry. With the skills and knowledge gained, I
aspire to help my generation and future flourish by being the
voice for the voiceless around me.

W h a t f u e l e d t h i s i s s i m p l y t h e c o n d i t i o n o f o u r w o r l d
t o d a y , s e e n t h r o u g h t h e l e n s o f s u s t a i n a b i l i t y . H e a p s o f
s t u d i e s a n d r e p o r t s s h o w t h a t o u r m o t h e r n a t u r e i s o n
t h e v e r g e o f d e a t h , w i t h c l i m a t e c h a n g e d e s t r o y i n g o u r
l a n d . T h i s d o e s n o t o n l y c o n c e r n o u r w e l l b e i n g b u t t h e

w e l l b e i n g o f o u r w i l d l i f e a s w e l l , w h o f a l l v i c t i m s t o
t h e s e b y n o f a u l t o f t h e i r o w n . J u s t b e c a u s e t h e y a r e
u n a b l e t o c r y o u t d o e s n o t m a k e t h e m a n y l e s s
s i g n i f i c a n t . I p r a y t o a d v o c a t e f o r w i l d l i f e w e l f a r e a n d
s u s t a i n a b i l i t y i n t h e f u t u r e . B u t o f c o u r s e , w h y w a i t w h e n
I c a n s t a r t n o w ? B e s i d e s v o l u n t e e r i n g a n d p a r t i c i p a t i n g
i n s u s t a i n a b l e m o v e m e n t s a n d i n i t i a t i v e s . I a l s o l e a d
U C S I ' s e n v i r o n m e n t a l a s s o c i a t i o n , T e r r a f i x !

Besides mother nature, I’ve recently deve loped a outlandish
obsession for literature and film. Two classic ye t exquisite
forms of art that offer us the best of both intellect and
creativity. It fascinates me how all the aspects come
together to bring out emotions and life into an author's or
director's work. Is she angry? Is she sad? Wait, does she
even care to begin with? So many possibilities, I guess yo u
could say I enjoy the twists and surprises. Despite how busy

my schedule can be, I’ll always put time aside to ca tch up on
my favorite pastime.
