Metering data can also be collected via an M-Bus meter and be connected via a gateway
to KNX. In the latter case, the gateway serves as a translator of the M-Bus telegrams into
KNX compliant frames and encoding. For this solution, pure M-Bus KNX gateways are
available in the market. Alternatively level converters in DDCs (Direct Digital Control) with
corresponding manufacturer application program can also translate the M-Bus information
and then transfer it internally to the central memory. After being configured by the KNX
integrator, the latter in turn translates the information into the KNX protocol.
