Picture 3: OMS Standard structure

The central element in this system is the Multi Utility Communication Controller (MUC)
which serves as a central gateway and a data transmitter. Different interfaces are offered,
which are laid down in the OMS specifications. The MUC communicates with the meter
either on the basis of wireless M-Bus (Metering Bus), wired M-Bus or via SML (Smart
Message Language).
