No matter how the meters are integrated in the KNX installation, it is not unimportant to
pay attention to the available data point types. Because these datapoint types are an
important element of the interworking standard, one must give the adequate attention to
it. These datapoint types are also dealt with in the chapter “Interworking”. KNX offers a
wide range of applicable DPTs. In this case, it is particularly important when dealing with
visualisation systems to know with which DPT the respective meter works to ensure that
the correct values are shown or to have these values converted, should they be different.
