Abstract
Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) has transformed how good are designed,
manufactured, used and managed including the operations, processes, supply chain
management and energy footprint of the factories. The approach of IR 4.0 has changed
the education’s system in Malaysia. Therefore, this quantitative study is conducted to
determine the students’ level of knowledge on IR 4.0 and readiness in facing IR 4.0
among polytechnic’s students based on the structured questionnaire survey and data
were obtained from 156 students. Descriptive statistics were used to infer the overall
study data and gives an insight into a variety of data collected. The findings of the data
analysis were carried out with the help of IBM SPSS software Statistics 25.0. This
study discovered polytechnic’s student were at moderate level of readiness in facing
IR 4.0 despite high level of knowledge on IR 4.0. Hence, this problem can be
overcome by organizing more industrial training that practiced IR 4.0 working
environment and restructure education curriculum by implementing IR 4.0 elements.
