                          THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ESL GAMES IN DEVELOPING STUDENT’S
                                                     VOCAB IN ENGLISH

                                                            Abstract

                        In this   globalisation era, English language proficiency becomes a paramount evident
                        to  a  successful  language  learning  process.  Thus,  Malaysia’s  English  Language
                        Curriculum  for  Primary  Schools  aims to  furnish  pupils  with  basic  language  skills
                        which qualify them to interact effectively in a various of contexts that are assign to the
                        pupils’  level  of  development  in  future.  Therefore,  the     KSSR  English  Language
                        syllabus is geared to mould the learners to become a proficient English language user
                        in  future.  Hence,  this  paper  revealed  the  effectiveness  of  the     ESL  games  in
                        developing vocab in English. It has been recognised as one of the productive platform
                        to ameliorate student’s listening and thinking skills and for reviewing vocabulary.40
                        respondents from year 4 were chosen according to their  poor Year 3 English final
                        exam’s result. They were tested through the pre-test and post-test. As a result, there is
                        a  strong  significance  between  the  integration  of  ESL  games  in  English  language
                        learning.
