            3. Remember to match words. For example, say alas-singko and ika-lima ng hapon
                 (five o’clock). Do not say alas-lima or ika-singko.
            4. Another common mistake is to say dos piso and dalawang pesos. When using the
                 Spanish-derived  word  dos  use  pesos,  and  with  the  indigenous  Tagalog  word
                 dalawa use piso.
            5. Try to seek out and read authentic texts, even if your level is very elementary.
                 Comic books, children’s stories, and even online items can be good simple texts.
            6. Group words together: for example, words related to the family, the house, the
                 hospital.
            7. Make writing a regular practice. This way you can accumulate a lot of “learner-
                 need vocabulary.”
