68 CHAPTER 4 SALES/COLLECTION BUSINESS PROCESS

Now we need to work on modifying the subform.
                               31. Delete the label on the subform, again taking care not to delete the subform itself.
Click on the subform so that the handles appear. Drag the left side of the subform to the
left side of the main form. Do the same for the right side of the form.
                               32. Examine the labels for Quantity and InventoryPrice. Notice that they are right
justified. Click on the Quantity label, hold the Shift key down, and click on the
InventoryPrice label. Click on the Align Left : to left justify these labels.
                               33. The QuantityOrdered text field and label and the InventoryPrice text field and
label are larger than they will need to be. Adjust their size to make them smaller by click-
ing on each and dragging the right side of the box to the left.
                               34. Just as we did not want the users to change the customer's information in the
main portion of the Sales Form, we do not want them to change the InventoryDescription
or the InventoryPrice in the subform. Change the properties on these two fields so that
the user cannot enter or change anything.

                         The Sales Form: Creating
                         a Combo Box

Since there are a limited number of extra items that can be added to customize a surfboard,
we can modify the subform by adding a pull-down menu called a Combo Box from which
                          to select these extra items.
                               1. The users will not need the ExtrasID field in the subform. Delete the ExtrasID
field and label from the subform. You can now slide the InventoryDescription and
InventoryPrice to the left so that they are next to the QuantityOrdered.
                               2. We will replace the ExtrasDescription and ExtrasPrice fields with a Combo
Box. Delete the two fields, and the ExtrasPrice label but do not delete the label for
ExtrasDescription. Drag the label next to the Inventory Price label.
                               3. From the Toolbox, click on the Combo Box ~ icon. Drag a rectangle in the
empty area in the Detail section. (Reminder: If your Toolbox disappears, you can recall it
by clicking on View> Toolbox.) The Combo Box Wizard window pops up. Click Next.
