STAINLESS STEEL METRIC TUBE FITTINGS

The EXMAR Stainless Steel Metric Tube Fitting manufactured to the international standard
DIN 2353 is for use in the connection of tubing for fluid transfer. There is no need for flaring or
welding of the tube. The couplings are now available with two types of rings to suit a multitude
of applications. These include chemical and petrochemical plant and equipment, paper, plas-
tic, boatbuilding and aircraft industries, offshore, measurement and control as well as hydrau-
lic systems and installations subject to highly corrosive conditions.

Ring Type 1: Standard Two Edge Cutting Ring: Physically cutting into the surface of
the tube this ring is suitable for general purpose hydraulics or most
fluids. It utilizes a proven cutting edge design used internationally for
decades.

Ring Type 2: New ‘NC’ Clamping Ring: Swages the outside of the tube slightly
deforming the inside and is suitable for all applications including some
gases where a guaranteed leak free connection and superior corrosion
resistance is required. NC Rings are Helium tight and approved for high
pressure gas to 250 bar under DVEW approval No. DE-4502 AT 0344.
The pressure rating of the NC Ring in hydraulic applications is the same
as the standard two edge Cutting Ring.

ASSEMBLY OF 316 STAINLESS STEEL FITTINGS

Stainless Steel threads are prone to picking up on each other (‘cold-welding’). It is strongly rec-
ommended that all threads receive a coating of Anti-Seize Paste before assemble to minimise
the chances of this happening.

EXMAR Anti-Seize Paste has been specifically developed for use with their 316 Stainless
Steel Hose Fittings and Tube Fittings.

Do not use force or cross thread the fittings at the start of assembly. The parts will fit
together by hand and only need spanners to complete the final tightening.
