• All Passenger Assistants and Drivers must display their
ID badges whilst transporting your child as part of the
Council’s procedure. If you have any concerns about
Drivers and Passenger Assistants not wearing their ID
badges, please do not hesitate to contact us on the
number given at the end of these guidelines.
• The role of the Passenger Assistants is to receive and
hand over your child to you or a responsible designated
adult, to ensure the safety and comfort of your child whilst
travelling and to support the needs of your child on board
transport.
• Should you have any concerns or require any
information, in the first instance you should contact
your passenger assistant direct. (All Passenger
Assistants have been issued with a mobile phone).
• At the start of a new academic year or when your child
receives transport for the first time, PTS will supply you
with details of your child’s transport including the name of
the Passenger Assistant and Contractor providing
transport.
• All transport provided will meet the Council’s strict
standards. All Drivers and Passenger Assistants have
valid Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) checks
carried out.
• All Passenger Assistants are provided with the necessary
training such as: Passenger Assistant Training Scheme
(PATS); Child Protection, Dealing with Challenging
Behaviour in Children and Adults, Wheelchair training,
Fire Evacuation training, Basic First Aid training.
