                                              ABSTRACT

In providing the best leadership support groups in educational institutions in
Malaysia, the middle leadership group needs to be empowered with a wide range
of knowledge and skills. Middle leaders are the heartbeat and liaison between
top management and a group of educators and other support staff. Therefore,
middle leaders need to possess multiple competencies in balancing their
functions as leaders and followers at one time. This study aimed to obtain expert
agreement on the construct of spiritual leadership competencies for middle
leaders using the Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM) approach. A questionnaire
instrument containing constructs and elements of spiritual competence was
presented to a total of 30 experts from various fields and backgrounds. The
findings of this study indicate that the expert panel agreed with the constructs
and elements of spiritual leadership competencies presented. The threshold
values of all 9 elements tested met the condition of d≤0.2, obtained expert
agreement exceeding 75% with values ranging from 93% to 100%, and met the
condition of alpha cut values exceeding 0.5 (α-cut≥0.5) with values ranging from
0.878 to 0.950. The defuzzification process carried out through FDM has also
rearranged all the spiritual elements based on the ranks agreed upon by the
experts. This study successfully presents a new construct by taking into account
the important elements in competence involving middle leaders that are
appropriate to the context of educational leadership in Malaysia.

               PENDAHULUAN

(Roselena & Mohd Izham, 2015; Grootenboer, 2018). Kepimpinan pendidikan
Kepimpinan pendidikan merangkumi
keseluruhan pemimpin dalam struktur organisasi pendidikan termasuk pemimpin
pertengahan (Hallinger & Wang, 2015; Harris, et al., 2018).

               Latar Belakang Kajian

Anjakan ke-5 PPPM jelas menunjukkan hasrat Kementerian Pendidikan
