Trend Kreativiti Awal Kanak-kanak
Kajian-kajian terdahulu menunjukkan trend kreativiti yang berbeza bagi kanak-
kanak berumur lima hingga tujuh tahun iaitu usia masuk ke persekolahan formal.
Peningkatan kreativiti terdapat dalam kajian Chae (2003), Daugherty, (1993),
dan Smolucha & Smolucha (1985). Gardner (1982), mengatakan bahawa kanak-
kanak prasekolah juga mempunyai tahap kreativiti seni dan estetika yang lebih
tinggi berbanding dengan kanak-kanak yang lebih tua (Zabelina & Robinson,
2010). Manakala pengurangan kreativiti ketika usia begini dapat dilihat daripada
hasil kajian Kim (2011), Smith & Carlsson (1983), Torrance (1962 & 1963), dan
Urban (1991). Hasil kajian Kim (2011), mendapati kreativiti dalam kalangan
kanak-kanak tadika hingga gred ketiga (lima hingga lapan tahun) di Amerika
semakin menurun dari tahun 1990an hingga 2008 walaupun IQ semakin
meningkat. Ukuran standard pemikiran kreatif mendedahkan bahawa apabila
kanak-kanak memasuki sekolah rendah, kreativiti mereka menurun (Safinah,
