2. CYLINDER HEAD
<Cylinder Head Bolt Installation>
1. Install new cylinder head bolts and washers.

2. Apply an appropriate amount of engine oil to the top
and bottom surfaces of the washers and the threaded
portion of the bolts.

3. Install the head bolts to the cylinder head.

4. Tighten the cylinder head bolts in several stages to
the specified torque of 35 ± 2 Nm according to the as-
sembly order shown in Fig. 5-25.

5. Put a paint mark on the head of all the cylinder head
bolts and on the cylinder head.

6. Tighten the cylinder head bolts 90° according to the
tightening order. Tighten them another 90° and make
sure that the paint marks on the cylinder head bolts are
in a straight line with that on the cylinder head.

Tightening torque: 35 ± 2 Nm→ +90°+90°
