Disà: directions; quarters)

1. ปุรัตถิมทิศ (ทิศเบื้องหนา คือ ทิศตะวันออก ไดแก มารดาบิดา เพราะเปนผูมีอุปการะแก

เรามากอน — Puratthima-disà: parents as the east or the direction in front)
ก. บุตรธิดาพึงบํ ารุงมารดาบิดา ผูเปนทิศเบื้องหนา ดังนี้

1) ทานเลี้ยงเรามาแลว เลี้ยงทานตอบ

2) ชวยทํ าการงานของทาน

3) ดํ ารงวงศสกุล
4) ประพฤติตนใหเหมาะสมกับความเปนทายาท

5) เมื่อทานลวงลับไปแลว ทํ าบุญอุทิศใหทาน

In five ways a child should minister to his parents as the eastern quarter (saying
to himself):

a) Having been supported by them, I will support them in my turn.

b) I will do their work for them.

c) I will keep up the honour and the traditions of my family.
d) I will make myself worthy of my heritage.

e) I will make offerings, dedicating merit to them after their death.

1) หามปรามจากความชั่ว

2) ใหตั้งอยูในความดี
