      DINOSAUR DAWN
One of the earliest dinosaurs was Eoraptor
(“dawn thief”), which lived 228 million years
ago. Like all theropods, this small, two-legged
hunter had erect legs and grasping hands for
seizing prey. But it lacked some features seen in
      most saurischians (lizard-hipped dinosaurs).
For instance, its neck and thumbs were
relatively shorter than those of other
      theropods or sauropodomorphs.
