                           The test was performed using the Universal testing machine (UTM), Instron
                   Model 5982 under compression testing mode with a hemispherical nose indentor of

                   diameter  12.7  mm  as  shown  in  Figure  3.7.  The  specimen  was  supported  on  a
                   rectangular opening of 75 x 75 mm. The indentor displacement was controlled by the

                   testing machine crossbar at a constant rate of 1.0 mm/min until the energy reached a
                   maximum value. The total energy absorption was calculated from the area under the

                   load-deflection curve of the tested specimen. To maintain the accuracy of the test data,

                   five indentation tests were performed for each of the laminate to obtain the average
                   data.
