3.5.5 Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) Test
High strain-rates behaviour of the specimens was characterised by using SHPB
under compression testing mode as shown in Figure 3.10. The test was conducted at
University of Science and Technology (USTC), Hefei, Anhui, China. The SHPB
apparatus was used in the composite system to conduct a dynamic compression
analysis at various strain-rate to evaluate the behaviour of the materials under dynamic
and extreme loading conditions, as described in the previous literature [111, 117, 124,
134–135]. The SHPB apparatus generally consists of a gun barrel, a striker bar, an
