Fluid Fittings Limited stocks chrome plated round bar that is generally used for the
manufacture of piston rods for hydraulic and pneumatic rams.
The bar is stocked as random lengths of typically 5.5 metres to 6.5 metres.
Occasionally we receive stock up to 8 metres long so please do not hesitate to
contact our sales staff if you need longer lengths.
Fluid Fittings Limited offers a same day cut and despatch service.
Where strength is critical then a material test certificate can be supplied.
The hard chrome bar part numbers system is described below:
HCB+++.++SUFFIX
Stands for hard chrome bar. Diameter in millimetres. This suffix denotes the grade of
Eg: 050.00 steel and if the steel is hardened.

For example a 70mm hard chrome bar could be supplied in the following forms:
• HCB070.00 (grade 1045 steel) **
• HCB070.00IH (grade 1045 steel induction hardened).
• HCB070.00IH38 (grade 38MnVS6 steel induction hardened). **
• HCB070.00IHHT (grade 4140 steel induction hardened). **
Note: ** denotes the most common options stocked.
