Abstract
This study is focused on the problem of mathematics learning media that have not
been able to improve students' creative thinking skills to find understanding of
mathematics subject matter which causes low student learning outcomes in class X
SMA Kartika 1-5 Padang. Therefore, problem solving-based mathematics learning
media were developed to increase students' creative thinking skills in the form of
Learning Implementation Plans and Student Worksheets. The specific target to be
achieved in this research is to be used as teaching material and a reference for
educators at the high school level, because the teachers expected will be able to play
the role of learning innovators. A teacher must be able to use the right method so that
it can change students' wrong view of mathematics, which in the end mathematics
becomes an easy, interesting and fun lesson for all students. This research is also
expected as an example of research for the research methodology subject at the Faculty
of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Ekasakti University. The method to be
achieved in achieving the objectives of this research is to use the development model
proposed by Tesmer. Problem-solving based teaching materials consist of a Learning
Implementation Plan and Student Worksheets. The validation of teaching materials
was carried out by mathematics and language education experts. Practicality is
investigated through observations of the implementation of learning, giving
questionnaires to students and interviews with students and teachers. The effectiveness
was investigated through activity observations and student learning outcomes tests,
data analysis was carried out descriptively. The expected output in this research is to
produce a valid, practical and effective student worksheet, to be published in an
unaccredited national journal and to produce national seminar proceedings.
