development of the youth target group in both pilot areas and in educational institutions. This
included personnel at all levels. In the first phase of operations, many schools were ordered to
closed because of the Covid-19. However, the Project continued to mobilize cooperation with
personnel of the educational institution in the Pasi Charoen District network, which is an ongoing
activity of the Project team and youth in some areas. This included convening online forums to
exchange ideas and mobilize cooperation, with a summary of results as follows:
1) Organized an online forum to create awareness and understanding of concepts, principles,
and operations of a Time Bank to accommodate an aged society for administrators of public and
private educational institutions. One forum had 18 participants. The participants were asked to
explore readiness and willingness to integrate teaching and learning with the development of Time
Bank to accommodate an aged society.
2) Conducted a survey of readiness and willingness to join as a prototype area, and learn
about the principles and concept of a Time Bank to accommodate an aged society, and the
operation of a Time Bank for all age groups in Pasi Charoen District. The participants were 12
administrators and teachers in schools affiliated with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA),
and three staff from the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC). The participants
represented five kindergarten and elementary schools, seven kindergarten, primary, and lower
secondary schools, and three secondary schools. The results of the survey found that five
educational institutions felt it would be possible for educational institutions to integrate the concept
of a “Time Bank to accommodate an aged society” in the program of instruction. Twelve schools
said they were not yet ready to implement integration of that concept.
3) Organized a brainstorming meeting with representatives from the five schools that felt
they could integrate learning about the Time Bank concept. They were eager to collaborate.
However, the obstacles imposed by the Covid-19 crisis made it difficult to advocate for the Project.
So far, one school was able to advocate for the process (Komon Prasert Uthit) and was able to
integrate teaching and learning for students and teachers.
4) The Project has developed an understanding among personnel of Bangchak School
(Komon Prasert Uthit), and has conducted five meetings in the area, with six teachers joining in the
learning process. They all participated in the development of teaching materials by integrating
principles of the Time Bank and Thailand's aging society. The participants produced video clips
tailored for a youth audience. It is expected that, in the next phase of the Project, there will also
